On December 12, at 11h00, José Dias defended his Master’s Thesis in Multimedia Communication, entitled “A Digital Game in Immersive Environment to Support the Stroke Victims.” The results relative to the use of digital games in physiotherapy and stroke rehabilitation have been presented at the Department of Communication and Art (room 21.2.1), University of Aveiro.
José Dias presented his MsC thesis in Multimedia Communication, on December 12, 2018, 11h00 a.m. at the Department of Communication and Art, University of Aveiro. José speaks about digital platforms, gesture-based interfaces, storytelling, game genre and aesthetics, level of difficulty and language used in a digital game in order to support physiotherapy and stroke recovery in older adult population. The digital game “A Priest in the Air” was developed both for the gesture interface Leap Motion and Head Mounted Display and its effectiveness for stroke recovery was discussed.
The Master’s thesis was supervised by professor Ana Isabel Veloso (Principal Researcher of the SEDUCE 2.0 project) and co-supervised by Tânia Ribeiro (Ph.D. student in Information and Communication in Digital Platforms). The Jury consisted of Prof. Rui Raposo (Department of Communication and Art, Universidade de Aveiro), Prof. Leonel Morgado (Universidade Aberta) and Prof. Ana Isabel Veloso (Department of Communication and Art, Universidade de Aveiro).
