Students present their work in the SEDUCE 2.0 project at Videogames 2019

From November 27 to 29, 2019, the Department of Communication and Art, DigiMedia and the Portuguese Society of Videogames organized the 11th International Conference on Videogame Sciences and Art 2019. Cláudia Ortet presented the paper on Gamification and Senior Cyclotourism whereas the group Footour presented the game in the demo section.

On November 29th, 2019, around 10 a.m., Cláudia Ortet, Master in Multimedia Communication with the dissertation fited within in the SEDUCE 2.0 research project, presented the paper ‘Jizo: A Gamified Digital App for the Senior Cyclo-tourism community.’ at the 11th International Conference on Videogame Sciences and Art 2019, with took place from 27 to 29 November, 2019, at the Department of Communication and Art, University of Aveiro.

On the previous day (November 28th), the Footour group that is formed by a number o students in New Technologies of Communication (Diogo Carvalho, João Sampaio and Sofia Ribeiro) presented around 5:30 p.m. in the demo section, the location-based game that aims to foster Senior Tourism in the city of Aveiro through the use of different routes and points of interest. The Footour was awarded with Best Demo.

The conference Videogames2019 is an annual event promoted by the Portuguese Society of Video Games that seeks different contributions from different areas, namely, art, drawing, narrative and computing. In 2019, the topics covered were: Games and Theories, Table Board Games, e-Sports, Uses and Methodologies, and Game Criticism.
