Technology-enabled Health, Rehabilitation and Wellness is the topic of the Workshop CISTI 2019, organized by the team SEDUCE 2.0

From July 19th to 22nd 2019, the 14th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies, CISTI 2019 took place in Coimbra. The researchers of the SEDUCE 2.0 project, Ana Isabel Veloso e Liliana Costa, organized the Workshop ‘Technology- Enabled Health, Rehabilitation and Wellness’ that compiled 8 papers.

The Workshop ‘Technology-Enabled Health, Rehabilitation and Wellness’ was promoted by the SEDUCE 2.0 project, which was integrated into the 14th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies.This workshop intended to be a forum where researchers, practitioners and industry representatives discuss the use and development of digital health applications in order to support illness diagnosis, decision-making processes, changes in the patients’ lifestyles within the courses of illnesses, promotion of healthy lifestyles and main implications on wellbeing and quality of life. Whereas ten papers were submitted, eight were accepted.

The topics under discussion were: Serious Games for Health; Emotional and Behavioural design; Virtual agents in the Health Sector; IoT in health, Gamification and Health-related behaviour changes; Rehabilitation apps, Health-related communities; Informational literacy in healthcare; Disease self-management; Communication to Illness and infection prevention; Technology-mediated interventions for active ageing; and Technology and the wellness market.
