University of Third Age Gafanha da Nazaré tests the Footour game route ‘Ovos Moles’

On June 16 at 15h30, a group of five adult learners at the University of Third Age Gafanha da Nazaré tests the Footour game route ‘Ovos Moles.’ The route has begun at Cais da Fonte Nova in Aveiro and involved the following places: Museu de Santa Joana, Confeitaria Peixinho, Praça General Humberto Delgado and Casa D.Maria da Apresentação.

On June 16, a group of five adult learners at the University of Third Age Gafanha da Nazaré has gathered at a monument devoted to Ovos Moles, a typical sweet of the region, for testing a proposed route of the game Footour. Participants began to install the game .apk files on their mobile phones by sharing a link provided by the team at 3:30 p.m.

After installing the game, the students at the University of Third Age visited. different points of interest (POIs) of a route in order to unlock minigames and obtain information about the place and historical information.

During the gameplay experience, participants recalled past through the use of old photographs and its interrelationship with the present, micro-narratives and self-identification with historical characters and products from a region, shared resources and status.

In the end of the experience, anonymous questionnaires were applied in order to assess the paticipants’ context in terms of leisure, tourism and satisfaction of the game Footour.
