Researchers of the SEDUCE 2.0 project talk at the International 51st EUCEN – University Lifelong Learning to Live a Better Life

On June 5-7 2019, the International Conference 51st EUCEN University Lifelong Learning to Live a Better Life took place at the University of Aveiro. The objective of this conference is to foster discussion about Life-long learning and the interconnection between learning and the daily community. The authors’ communications were divided into the following Special Tracks: Wellbeing in a Digital Age, Enabling Livelihood and Citizenship and Humanity Engagement.

On June 5-7 2019, the International Conference 51st EUCEN University Lifelong Learning to Live a Better Life took place at the University of Aveiro. The objective of this conference is to foster discussion about Life-long learning and the interconnection between learning and the daily community. The authors’ communications were divided into the following Special Tracks: Wellbeing in a Digital Age, Enabling Livelihood and Citizenship and Humanity Engagement.

For each Special Track, there was a Keynote Speaker who presented the session:

• Wellbeing in a Digital Age: In this session, the role of ICT and competences to serve each market opportunity. Miguel Sicilia from the University of Alcalá was the keynote and moderator of this session;

Enabling Livelihood: In this session, the interconnection between learning and professional competences in order to identify new practices and promote quality of life (e.g. vocation training, learning and professional development). Alfredo Soeiro from the University of Porto was the keynote and moderator of this session;

• Active Citizenship and Humanity Engagement: In this session, active citizenship and human development, employability and entrepreneurship were some of the topics covered in this session. Fergal Finnegan from University of Maynooth was the keynote and moderator of this session.

The researchers Ana Isabel Veloso, Liliana Costa e Sónia Ferreira presented their communications relative to the SEDUCE 2.0 research project:

• Ana Isabel Veloso presented ‘SEDUCE: challenges of the co-design approach with older adults’;
• Liliana Costa presented ‘Playful Digitally-mediated Wellbeing and Learning for Active Ageing’;
• Sónia Almeida presented ‘Synchronous communication service developed with and for older adults’

Beyond the communications, there were also some posters. The scientific committee consisted of the eucen president François de Viron. Yusuf Halefoglu e Lúcia Santos, members of the eucen scientific committee, Manuel Assunção, and Maria Eugénia Pereira from the University of Aveiro.
