From April 29 to 30, 2019, the SEDUCE research project was represented by José Dias, who showed the use of digital games in the process of recovery from a stroke in the event XPERIMENTA, organized by the University of Aveiro.
The two-day event XPERIMENTA occurred between April 29 and 30 with the purpose of demonstrating the competences, course curriculum and the best hands-on research projects from each department of the University of Aveiro.

The ‘Pavilhão Prof. Doutor Aristides Hall’ filled with students from elementary and high school as well as general community, who had the opportunity to put in researchers’ shoes in two consecutive days and try out some of research projects carried out at the University of Aveiro.

The research unit DigiMedia was represented by José Dias, research fellow at the SEDUCE 2.0 research project, who showed the digital game ‘A Priest in the Air’ that aims to encourage physical exercise in the older adults who suffered from stroke. The participants in the event tried the game by interacting with a natural interface and Leap Motion device and observing the game elements that can complement the therapeutic exercises performed in a physiotherapy center. Other projects from the same research team included the PAprICa project, which aims to understand the contribution of Internet of Thing to an education setting presented by Filipe Moreira and ‘Mixed Realities and Science Communication’, a collaboration between DigiMedia and Science Factory.
The event XPERIMENTA had nearly 10 thousand visitants and further information can be found in the following link: http://xperimenta.web.ua.pt.
